Maggie Cunniffe – Owner, Director & Small Animal Hydrotherapist: B.A M.Sc. RCH, MCHA
Following a professional life as a teacher and senior manager in the NHS, Maggie decided on a complete career change which involved working with dogs. Initially she became a Kennel Club registered Labrador breeder moving on to become a qualified hydrotherapist and is ABC nationally accredited in hydrotherapy for small animals. Maggie then established TOP DOG HYDROTHERAPY in 2007 and has been running the business successfully ever since. Maggie still takes an active part in the business although she is now semi-retired and works part time hours.
Jen Wise (nee Best) – Operations Manager, Registered Veterinary Nurse & Small Animal Hydrotherapist: PGCE, BSc (Hons) RVN, V1, RCH, MBVNA, MCHA
Jen completed her BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Nursing Science in 2008 & is a registered veterinary nurse & hydrotherapist. She has a wealth of experience in many fields within the veterinary industry & has worked in a variety of different veterinary nursing environments from small animal veterinary referral & zoo practices to pet insurance, lecturing, being a internal quality assurer & working for a large multi-discipline canine rehabilitation centre. Jen is now Operations Manager at Top Dog Hydrotherapy & is pursing her passion for rehabilitation. Jen qualified as a hydrotherapist and is ABC Nationally accredited in hydrotherapy for small animals. Jen is furthering her knowledge & skills by completing an extra qualification in hydrotherapy which will be finished by the end of 2017.
Ellie Townley – Senior Small Animal Hydrotherapist: Ex Dip An Man, RCH, MCHA
Ellie began her career with animals at Sparsholt College where she gained her Extended Diploma in animal management. Ellie completed her work experience at Top Dog as part of this course & recognised that this would be her chosen career path. She has since qualified as a small animal hydrotherapist and is ABC Nationally accredited. Ellie has also completed a course on canine massage at Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation Centre. In order to extend her skills and knowledge further Ellie is completing an extra hydrotherapy qualification which will be finished by the end of 2017.
Emma Mason – Trainee Small Animal Hydrotherapist: FdSc in Animal Behaviour & Welfare
Emma has been working for Top Dog for a number of years on a Saturday while studying for her FdSc degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. Emma most recently has been studying for a BSc (Hons) degree in Zoo Biology which she has just completed and is awaiting her results. Emma is now going to be working more hours at Top Dog and is due to start her training to become a small animal hydrotherapist in July.
Rosie Chalk-Pope – Assistant Hydrotherapist (Apprentice in Animal Care)
Rosie joined Top Dog in Sept 16 on an apprenticeship scheme with Sparsholt College. Rosie attends college one day a week to study Animal Care and has a portfolio to complete along with regular assessments. The rest of the week is spent with the Top Dog team assisting with hydrotherapy sessions. Rosie has integrated very well into the team and grown in confidence. Rosie is due to complete her qualification over the summer 2017 and is looking into her next step on her career path.
