Finnegan – Hemilamenectomy

Hydrotherapy is an excellent form of exercise as most of the muscles normally used in movement can be achieved without the stresses when performed on land. On land, each step the dog takes creates a shockwave that travels up the limb which is then absorbed by bones, tendons and joints. These stresses are necessary to maintain healthy strong bones, however if severe or repetitive they can eventually cause damage or weakness. This is especially the case in arthritic joints or dogs recovering from surgery.

Hydrotherapy helps by:

  • Strengthening muscles
